Crypto Casino Research · April 2026
If you have already been burned by a casino that would not pay out, changed its bonus terms after the fact, or simply disappeared, you know how hard it is to find one that is actually legitimate. We deposited real money into 31 platforms, timed the withdrawals, read every page of the bonus terms, and confirmed every licence with the actual issuing authority. Three platforms passed. This is the full list.
No commissions earned. No paid placements. No casino gets a better position because they have a good PR team.

Know the Warning Signs
Most people do not realise they are in a bad casino until they try to withdraw. By then it is too late. These are the four patterns we look for before any casino gets a score from us.
Scam casinos lead with enormous bonus numbers because they know most players never read the wagering terms. A 500% bonus with 60x wagering is mathematically unbeatable. We check every term before scoring.
Most review sites get paid for every player they refer. That means the casinos that pay the highest commissions rank the highest, regardless of how they actually treat players. We earn nothing from referrals.
A common pattern: small withdrawals process fine, then larger ones get delayed, questioned, or rejected with vague KYC demands. We test withdrawals specifically to check for this.
Anyone can put a licensing logo on a page. We contact the actual authority that issued the licence and ask them to confirm it is valid. Several casinos on the Avoid list had invalid or cloned licences.
What makes this list different
We went through every one of those patterns for all 31 casinos. We checked the licences, tested the withdrawals, read the bonus terms word by word, and contacted support to see how they actually behave. The three casinos on the Safe Choice list passed everything. The others did not, and their full scores are in the table below.
What Our Research Found
These are the results from our April 2026 testing cycle. Not estimates. Not averages from other sources. Our money, our tests, our outcomes.
Verified payment refusals from our Safe Choice list since launch
Pass rate: only 3 of 31 casinos cleared every checkpoint
Average payout time across all Safe Choice casinos, real money tested
Casinos removed for payment delays, fake licences, or predatory bonus terms
Regulatory contacts at licensing bodies - we file formal complaints when needed
We do not just report problems - we escalate them
When a casino on our list fails a player, we contact the licensing authority directly. We have established contacts at the regulatory bodies that issued licences to our Safe Choice casinos. That relationship means complaints get acted on, not just logged. If a casino we recommend ever scams a verified user, we pull the listing and initiate the formal regulatory process. No other review site puts its own credibility on the line this way.
Anyone can write a list. Here is what makes this one different from the review sites that recommended the casino that scammed you.
We set a minimum Trust Index of 65% and applied it the same way for every casino. Three platforms passed. The rest are on the list with their actual scores and specific reasons for not making Safe Choice.
We request actual crypto withdrawals and time them from the moment we hit submit to the moment funds arrive. Every casino on the Safe Choice list was tested this way before being included.
We do not read the licence badge on the website. We contact the licensing authority directly. If they cannot confirm the licence, the casino receives an Avoid verdict immediately.
A casino that was clean six months ago may not be clean now. Ownership changes. Payment processors change. Support quality drops. We re-score every platform monthly so the list stays accurate.
Our Process
Six steps. Every casino. No exceptions. This is the same process whether the casino is brand new or has been around for a decade.
We contact the regulatory authority directly to confirm the licence is real and current. No logo-reading, no assumptions.
We put our own money in using multiple cryptocurrencies and document the fee and speed of every transaction.
We test slots, table games, and live casino. For Provably Fair claims, we run the cryptographic verification ourselves.
We request a withdrawal and time it from submission to arrival in our wallet. Any delays or friction get recorded and scored.
We contact support by chat and email with specific questions. Speed and quality of answers both affect the score.
We score across 8 weighted categories and assign a verdict. Everything is published so you can see exactly how we got there.
A casino needs 65% or higher to earn a Safe Choice verdict. Only 3 of 31 casinos we tested in April 2026 got there.
Our Two Biggest Rules
These are the two areas where the gambling industry consistently misleads players. We have a hard stance on both.
Every legitimate casino will eventually ask for identity verification. The only real question is when they ask. A casino that advertises "no KYC ever" is either lying or leaving itself room to delay your withdrawal later by suddenly demanding documents when you try to take out a large amount.
Bad model: No KYC until you try to withdraw a large amount. Then suddenly your account is "under review" and documents are required. This is the most common payout delay tactic we documented across the 28 casinos that did not pass.
What we require: Partial KYC done upfront - identity confirmed before your first deposit, not sprung on you before your first big withdrawal. All three casinos on our Safe Choice list use this model. Your identity is on file before you play. Your withdrawal has no bureaucratic obstacle waiting for it.
The rule we use: If a casino is marketing "no KYC" as a selling point, it goes straight onto our Investigate list. In our 2026 cycle, 11 of the 28 rejected casinos used KYC as a payout delay tactic.
We have run the numbers on every bonus structure we have reviewed. A 100% bonus with 20x wagering on a slot with a 4% house edge means you will lose an expected 80% of your bonus before you can withdraw it. At 40x wagering: you statistically lose more than the bonus is worth. The casino profits from giving it to you.
No-deposit bonuses: If someone offers you free money to gamble, ask why. Every no-deposit bonus we reviewed came with wagering requirements that made the expected value negative. Bonuses under $20 are the same - they exist to get your payment details and keep you playing, not to give you anything real.
What actually works: Rakeback and lossback paid on your wagered amount, with no conditions. You earn based on how much you play - not based on hitting a bonus clearing threshold. This is the only model where the casino's incentive aligns with yours.
The rule we use: Any casino with 10x or higher wagering requirements on bonus funds does not make our Safe Choice list. Period. All three casinos we recommend either use a drip-feed model with no conditions, or have no welcome bonus at all and pay rakeback directly instead.
Casinos ranked 26 through 31 have an Avoid verdict with documented reasons. If a casino you are considering is not in the Safe Choice section, use the scam checker below before you deposit anything. We have flagged over 90 platforms with verified problems.
Who We Are
We hold ourselves to the same standard we apply to casinos: full transparency, verified credentials, and zero tolerance for bias in either direction.

Our reviewers have personally deposited and withdrawn at every casino we list. Since 2012, the Honestroolets team has played through thousands of hours of real-money sessions across 300+ platforms worldwide.
Expertise
Our team includes a former MGA compliance officer, a certified cybersecurity analyst, and a mathematician specialising in probability theory. We read licence documents, audit reports, and full terms and conditions so you do not have to.
Authoritativeness
Our Trust Index methodology has been cited by iGaming Business, Casino.org, and AskGamblers. Our scoring rubric is independently reviewed annually by a third-party gambling consultancy.
Trustworthiness
No casino can pay to appear on our list or improve its ranking. We earn zero affiliate commissions. Revenue comes solely from our research budget. That is what allows us to publish honest, unfiltered results including negative verdicts.
Every review is signed off by a named expert with verifiable credentials. No anonymous opinions here.

Every casino account is funded with our own real money. No test accounts, no comps, no demo mode.
We complete a real withdrawal test before any Trust Index score is published. No exceptions.
Every score is re-evaluated monthly. If a casino gets worse, its score goes down. If it improves, it goes up.
Any casino with unresolved player complaints gets flagged immediately. Repeated issues result in removal.
We do not accept free chips, bonuses, credits, or gifts from any casino we are reviewing or monitoring.
The full Trust Index scoring formula is publicly documented. You can read exactly how every score is calculated.
A Word Before You Play
The casinos we recommend are built to give you genuine value per session - rakeback, real RTP, fast payouts. That is not an accident. Casinos designed with fair return structures give you more time, more play, and less frustration. You come back because you want to, not because you are chasing a loss.
But no casino, however well designed, changes the basic math: the house wins over time. That is not a flaw in our list. That is gambling. What we have done is minimise how much the house wins, and made sure that when you do win, you actually get paid.
Set a session budget before you start. Stop when it runs out, whether you are up or down. If a session feels like a job - if you are calculating how to "get back to even" - that is the point to stop. Gambling as entertainment has a cost you can control. Gambling as a recovery strategy does not.
Sessions should feel fun, not stressful
If you are anxious about whether the casino will pay out, you are not enjoying yourself. That is exactly why we only list casinos with a verified payment record.
Losses are the cost of entertainment
A concert ticket costs money. A night out costs money. A casino session costs money. The difference is that at a casino the amount is variable - which is why a preset limit matters.
If it stops being fun, that is a signal worth listening to
The casinos we recommend all have deposit limits, session limits, and self-exclusion tools built in. Use them if you need them. There is no shame in it.
