The cryptocurrency you choose to deposit with at a crypto casino affects your transaction speed, fees, and exposure to price volatility while your funds sit on the platform. This comparison covers the three most common deposit options: Bitcoin, Ethereum, and stablecoins (primarily USDT and USDC).

Bitcoin (BTC)

Bitcoin is the most widely accepted deposit method across all 31 casinos in our 2026 review. Every platform we tested accepts it. It is the de facto standard.

  • Transaction speed: Bitcoin confirmations take 10 to 60 minutes depending on network congestion and the confirmation threshold set by the casino. Some casinos credit deposits after 1 confirmation, others require 3.
  • Fees: Bitcoin network fees fluctuate with demand. During high-congestion periods, fees can be significant on small deposits. On large deposits, the fee is a smaller percentage.
  • Volatility: Bitcoin's value changes continuously. If the price drops significantly while your funds are on the casino, your real-money value has dropped even if your balance in BTC is unchanged.

Bitcoin is ideal for larger deposits where network fees are a small percentage, and for players who are comfortable holding BTC and do not need to calculate their losses or wins in fiat terms.

Ethereum (ETH)

Ethereum is the second most commonly accepted crypto at the casinos we tested. It is accepted by the majority of platforms in our group, including all three Safe Choice casinos.

  • Transaction speed: Ethereum confirmations are faster than Bitcoin on average, typically 15 seconds to 5 minutes. Most casinos credit Ethereum deposits after 12 to 30 confirmations, which takes 3 to 10 minutes under normal conditions.
  • Fees: Ethereum gas fees are lower than Bitcoin network fees for standard transfers under most market conditions, though they spike during high network activity.
  • Volatility: Similar to Bitcoin. ETH price moves independently and can swing significantly in short periods.

Stablecoins (USDT, USDC)

Stablecoins are cryptocurrencies pegged to a fiat currency, typically the US dollar. USDT (Tether) and USDC (USD Coin) are the most commonly accepted at crypto casinos.

  • Transaction speed: Depends on the network the stablecoin runs on. USDT and USDC on the Ethereum network follow Ethereum timings. Both are also available on faster chains like Tron (TRC-20) and Polygon, which confirm in seconds.
  • Fees: On Tron, stablecoin transfers are very cheap. On Ethereum, gas fees apply as normal.
  • Volatility: Near zero for USD-pegged stablecoins. Your deposit value in fiat terms stays constant while funds sit on the casino. This is the primary advantage of stablecoins for casino play.

Always confirm which network the casino uses for stablecoin deposits before sending. Sending USDT on the TRC-20 network to an Ethereum USDT address (or vice versa) results in permanent loss of funds. This is the most common costly mistake in crypto casino deposits.

Crypto casino withdrawal speed by deposit currency

Based on our testing across the Safe Choice casinos:

  • Bitcoin withdrawals: 8 to 31 minutes depending on the casino and network conditions.
  • Ethereum withdrawals: comparable to Bitcoin at the same casinos.
  • Stablecoin withdrawals: faster on Tron-based networks. USDT TRC-20 withdrawals typically arrive in under 3 minutes once processed by the casino.

Which crypto deposit method to use at a casino

  • If you want to avoid fiat volatility: deposit in stablecoins (USDT or USDC on Tron for lowest fees and fastest transactions).
  • If you are already holding Bitcoin or Ethereum: no need to convert. The speed difference is minor across the Safe Choice casinos.
  • For small deposits: stablecoins on Tron minimise fees. Bitcoin and Ethereum have fixed fees that are proportionally high on small amounts.

The full casino table on our main rankings page includes which currencies each casino accepts. All three Safe Choice casinos accept Bitcoin, Ethereum, and at least one stablecoin.
